I disagrree with some of this (FOTM, SS etc.) ,agree with some (CJ), but I totally agree with the Dear Mr.Fantasy . On paper it seemed like a great idea, but it just never really did justice to this song . I always though "Low Spark" would have been good ( I like the Warren Haynes ones with Phil) , but I suspect the the later day band just didn't have the "feel" for these type of things . This is always a cautiony tale for the "I wish they would have brought (name tune) back " .game .
Can you imagine what a 1987 version of the 11 would have sounded like !

I saw Warren and Gov't Mule do Low Spark at the Warfield a few years back with Dave Schools and Eric McFadden. It was really one of the best versions of that song I have ever heard - dueling Les Pauls with Dave on Bass and Matt Abts on drums. Very nice, indeed.
